Graduation Card

Our challenge this week on the MTC Forum is for a Graduation Card. The card file is provided by Becki, I used ScrappyDew Grad Palz Set.

My niece will be going into Middle School next year and they are having a ceremony for the kids in 2 weeks. I created this card for her. These are her school colors.

The top of the card folds down and tuns into a cap.

I thought I had ribbon to match my paper, of course I could not find it. So, I took the tassel from the grad file and re-sized it larger to attach to the cap.

For the back of my card, I used the certificate that is included with the grad file. I added a shadow layer in MTC, some text and printed it out.

Young Aviators Birthday Card

Hello everyone, I'd like to share a Birthday Card with you today.

I need a birthday card for my nephew for the month of June. When I seen this Young Aviator Set by ScrappyDew, I thought it would be perfect. I decided to create a window card. I still think it needs a little something for the front. Just don't know what yet. LOL
The card is going to be mailed so I could not do much 3D things. I printed a lot of the graphics because of this. I would have liked to use a brad with the propeller to make it spin.

I used a Cuttlebug Embossing folder called "Tiny Mosaic Texture" for the red frame. I don't have a brick one. The clouds I used the "D'vine Swirl" folder.

For the inside, I created a shadow layer for the front facing plane and clouds. The red mat is by Penny Duncan. I also took one of the clouds and put a sentiment on it. I used the same font as the Title, Kristen ITC.

This is a close up of the boy on the inside of the card. I forgot to take a photo of that part of the card. I used red and silver Stickles on the glasses and the scarf.

This is the back of my card. I once again used one of the clouds for my signature, I also used the same font to tie it all together.

Thanks for looking! If you would like the Window Card File, you can download it Here MTC format only for right now.

Pixie Girls Tag Bag

I created my project for the current Tag Bag Challenge on the MTC forum. I used Scrappy Dew Pixie Girls Set.
For my eyes this time I decided to use Brigit's eyes, I do have a tutorial on my blog Here
I printed the face on my cardstock and then hand cut it, I don't have a cutter yet where I can use print n cut with great results.
I embossed the bag front, tag base and the white circle using Cuttlebug and Sizzix embossing folders. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the tag border. The sentiment on the tag is from Just Saying stamp set by Inkadinkado.
I applied some Ranger Stickles to the white circle, border on the tag, mushrooms, wings and the grass. I also applied some Ranger Petal Pink Perfect Pearls to the bottom of her dress. For the wings, I cut them out of vellum.

Scrappy Dew Challenge Project

My fellow DT member Dania, will be hosting challenges for Scrappy Dew twice monthly. This is the first challenge, a card project.

I strayed a bit from the sketch. LOL This card will be for my son to give to my MIL for Mother's Day.
I used the boy bird from Scrappy Dew Gardening Tweets. I love this set, this is the 2nd project I have used it on.
The square and circle mats are from Birds Cards.

for the inside, I created an additional shadow layer in MTC. The mat has 3 layers. I had left over greenery from another project and adhered 2 Recollections flowers to it.

For my back signature, I borrowed a Just Rite stamp from a friend and stamped it on white cardstock with black ink. Scanned it, did a pixel trace on it in MTC.  I had to do a lot of node editing which took me longer than creating the card. LOL

I hope more of you will join in on the challenges! They are a lot of fun and a great way to get your cards completed.

CHALLENGE!

Happy Friday ScrappyDew Fans.   All week I've been planning this challenge and I sure hope you all have fun with it.  Please hang in there with me as I work through this "learning curve."  :)

First let me share the sketch

The challenge begins today, Friday April 13th and will close on Friday, April 27th.  Midnight Texas Time (US CENTRAL TIME ZONE). That gives everyone two weeks to complete and submit their projects.

Your submission needs to be emailed to SCRAPPYDEWCHALLENGE@GMAIL.COM.  You may post them on the Facebook Fan Page, BUT only the ones emailed will count towards the prize.  I will take your submissions and share them here on the blog and on the Facebook Fan Page.  PLEASE put your full name on the email.

I will randomly (put your name in a hat) and pick out a winner.  The winner will be announced on the Facebook Fan Page as well as on the blog.

Now to make this a little more interesting - everyone is allowed TWO submissions, but here is the catch:  one with a ScrappyDew cut file and the other is a ScrappyDew digi....how is that for challenge???? ;) Since I am not sure what the submission load will be I please ask that participants please adhere to this request.  The ScrappyDew Fan Page has over 800 fans....so you the idea.  :))))

Here are my interpretation of the sketch and hopefully they may inspire you all.

The Digi File:

If you have any questions or comments please post them here.  Ok folks go for it!  Have fun and we look forward in seeing all your lovely work!

Gardening Tweets Card

Between watching the Decorah Eagle and Hummingbird Cams, I was in the mood to make a project with birds. LOL

I made this for my son to give to his aid. She is with him for 6 1/2 hours a day while in school and this will be the seventh year. She has become part of our family.

I used Scrappy Dew Gardening Tweets to create my project today.

I welded shapes together from within the set to create the top layer card. I then glued the card to the watering can base layer. I added Rhinestones everywhere there was a circle cutout. Some lace for the curtains. Just had a thought, I should have had one of the birds peeking thru the window or door.  Darn! LOL Maybe next time.

For the inside, I created shadow layers and printed out the gardening bird and tulips on some glossy paper. There is a slight glare from the bottom layer projecting onto the bird in the top layer. Sorry about that.

A better view of the bird.

Supplies Used:
Blue Bazzill Paper
Rhinestones
Lace
K&C0MPANY Paper
Photo Paper
Yellow Cardstock

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Thanks for viewing.
