Teacher Gift

Today, I'm sharing a gift I created for my son to give to his teacher on the first day of preschool.  I wanted to go with an old fashion style and the paper piecings and paper were perfect!

 

 

The sticky note holder file was purchased from the silhouette store.  I decided that I really wanted to dress it up and the scrappydew files were exactly what I wanted!

 

 

To create this sticky note holder I used a couple files from Scrappydew Creations.  For the school building I used the Back 2 School 2011 set which can also be found in their vault. For the apple I used the Back to School 2013 set.  Scrappydew just came out with a new school file which has both a school building and an apple. So, which ever files you have will work perfectly! 

 

The school measures 3" and the apple measures a little more then 1".

Other products used: Back to Old School digital paper from etsy store and irock jewels.

Warm Hugs Across the Miles

Guess what gang?  It's Saturday again and time for a new project.  This is a card that I made using the Scrap Factory file called ScrappyDew Bedtime.  I used the hair Vicki and outfit #3.  All of the card is constructed using various scraps and 1 sheet of cinnamon colored felt from Hobby Lobby.

 The inside of the card uses Kitty Palz from Scrappydew.  

I have a very good friend that lives many miles away that is dealing with a medical issue at the moment.  I thought she might like a cute card to cheer her up.  I think I surprised her and she said that it did just that.  Get well soon sweetie!

Now to the comedy portion of the blog for this week.  I am a huge CHICKEN when it comes to thunder and lightning storms.  I am terrified.  Thankfully we just don't get many here in the valley of Oregon.  That was until last night.  I knew when I got up in the morning and saw those stinking clouds I was in trouble.  (at least the storm waited until after the ScrappyDew Hangout on Google+ was over) About 9:12 pm (yes, I looked at the clock) it started.  Just heat lightning at first and then the BOOMERS started about 45 minutes later.  Wasn't bad, I could handle this.  But when the power blinked and the house rattled I went into panic mode.  Where can I hide....can't get under the bed.  Plugging my ears just made my head and fingers hurt.  THEN I remember I saw in the garage a set of noise cancelling ear phones (like the ones you use on a firing range).  Slapped those puppies on and magically the boomers didn't seem so scary anymore.  Of course this is after 3 hours of trying to stay calm.  This danged storm lasted until just before 4 am.  Of course then my kitty Spooky decided it was time for her to eat and got me up at 6:30 am.  Gang, I was falling asleep in my lunch.  Took a 3 hour nap this afternoon and all is well at home again.  Still keeping an eye out on the NOAA radar for any threat coming at us for tonight but so far so good.

Grandma's Purse

Do you have memories of your grandma???

Well each time I saw a coin purse, it remainds me my grandmother.

So this week project is a purse shaped card and a sweet grandma

Look at her, she is even wearing her glasses!!!!

For this project I used Gram and Gramps ScrappyDew file.

Birthday Side Step Card

Here is a card I made for a boy's 1st birthday. I used the files Firefighters - 2013, Firefighter Kidz, Firefighter Trucks and Firefighter Addons. The files are located in the All Grown Up folder. This should make any boy happy who is in love with firetrucks!

Da Boat!

My darling husbands birthday was Wednesday.  So each birthday I try to create a fabulous card just for him (he is my biggest supporter and critic).  So this year I wanted to showcase his baby.  A 28 foot Tollycraft boat.  The boat hasn't been in the water in over 5+ years.  DH has been slowly but surely completely overhauling everything from the engine and electrical to the curtains (that was my job).  I really hope that come late fall, we just might be able to put the boat in at Newport, Oregon for some crab and salmon.  But just in case, I went ahead and floated his boat sooner!

First, the lyrics:

Recollections paper throughout.  DCWV Glitter stack.  I used ScrappyDew's Under the Sea Palz2, and ScrappyDew's Pirate Palz 2011 which can be found in the vault.

So here is what I came up with...

He LOVED this card.  He even took it to our shop to show it off.  BTW, did you notice the boat and lighthouse?  I watched a tutorial created by ScrappyDew on how to do a pixel trace and then create a print and cut. If you are on google+ come on over to The Cut Zone.  It is a wonderful group and we share projects using all sorts of cutters and programs.  Now my 1st attempt at this type of pixel trace is rather rough.  But with practice, I bet I can get spot on!

Cowgirl Mini Album

A little bit late today :o)

On Sunday is my niece Raquel 10th birthday. 

Resh is an animal lover since she born.

She loves to ride horses.

So this cowgirl minialbum is for her.

To make this minialbum I altered an Altoid thin.

Once ready, I decored the altered thin with this lovely cowgirl from "Scrappy Wild West" ScrappyDew file.
