No Soliciting

It's Saturday again and I have a confession to make.  I do not always love how a project turns out.  In fact, I recently tore up a project but kept the piece that I liked.  If I keep what I like, I will usually use it on another project. I have a really cute little box that I have bits and pieces of cards and other projects that have gone by the wayside.

This weeks project uses one of those bits.  I posted a little orange purse project a few weeks ago.

Look at the edges.  Nothing would stick to that darned orange glitter paper!
So I tore it all apart and kept the fairy.  The fairy pattern is the Flower Fairy Princess 2014.  She is cute as a bugs ear and I just knew I could use her sometime soon.

On my front door I have a No Soliciting sign that is very creative.  It was getting very faded and I just needed to make a new one.  So I got out some Recollections paper and cut out what I wanted the sign to say and backed it with a bright color (I used the paper I cut the letters out of like a stencil).

Next I dug out my Purple Cows Laminator and sealed the sign up.  After some finagling I got the sign the way I liked it.  So here is the new and improved Flower Fairy 2014.

Does this help with the solicitors?  In a way, some leave the porch and don't knock.  But just this week I had one knock and I answered.  The young man just wanted to say he "LOVED MY SIGN!!!!"

That's it for this week.  Next week I will have a back to school card that will knock your socks off!

Bright blessings, Jana

Purse Note Card Set

Today I have a really cute purse note card holder for you.  Now I didn't design the purse.  I found the pattern over at the Team KNK forum.  This was posted by Deb M.  It is such a cute idea I had to give it a try.

But first, here are the project lyrics:

Fairy Flower Princess
Recollections paper in tan, bright orange, hot pink, lime green
Petaloo purple glitter sheets
Doodlebug Design Tangerine chevron orange glitter paper
DCWV Pocketful of Posies designer stack
K&Co. Embossed Specialty Papers

The first thing I did was make this project bigger.  The original is for 4.25 by 4.25 cards and I wanted A2.  (i think this is where i started having problems, my dimensions are off)  So I cut out all of my pieces and made the inside card holders.

Time to put this purse together.  The orange glitter paper has what is called a sugar coating.  Not one of all the glues I had would actually stick.
orange paper on reverse
OK, now what to do...(only had bought 2 sheets of this dang blasted stuff thank goodness)  Well, I went out to the garage and rummaged through the sand paper.  Found some fine grit and sanded all of the edges to get this sugar krap off.  Finally able with the help of Mr. Elmer to glue down the purple edges.  (had to sand off each and every area that I wanted to glue, big pain)

The rest of the purse went together pretty well.  Until I got to the placement of the enlarged pockets.  They just would line up right.  Finally got it to work.  Purse done and now on to the note cards.  Nothing really fancy, just nice every day cards.  BUT...I did find some tape that is double sided with a waxed paper backing that I put on the envelopes.  I really didn't like sending out a project that the recipient had to tape the envelope closed.

So here are the final project pics.

So I am finished with this project.  Now some important news.  I will be (in the coming weeks) re-designing the blog and adding some new places to see and read about rhapsodyonpaper.  It's time and I really need to add social media buttons for everyone.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Leave a comment and let me know.  Who knows, I just might mention you in a post.

Take care everyone, bright blessings, Jana

Fairy Interactive Card

In the moment I saw this "Flower Fairy Princess" ScrappyDew´s new cut file, I love it.

So this week I use one of its fairies to make an interactive card, a card full of movement.

To show its movement, I made a little video

Have a nice weekend and a Scrapbook Day full of creativity and lots and lots of scrapbook :o)
