Just Spinning By!

Hey ya'll!  I have a very quick and cute Halloween card to share with you today.  I have just fell in love with spinner cards.  This is going to a friend who loves to get mail.  Not real fancy but loaded with fun.

I used ScrappyDew's file called Spider Web.  It can be found in the vault.

The spinner is made up of foam circles and 2 nickles.

Short sweet and to the point.  I might have one more Halloween project to share.  To tell ya the truth, I have already switched gears.  I am in full on christmas mode.  I am doing a bazaar the first weekend in December.  I decided to make sets of Christmas cards.  5 cards to each set.  I want to make 20 sets so that is 100 cards if my math is correct.  I have to get going on these.

So my friend, take care.  The rainy season is almost here and boy howdy am I ready.

Chocolate Bunny Card

One last Easter project to share with you.  I sincerely wish that each and everyone of you have a very blessed Easter celebration.  There are so many traditions that families have when celebrating Easter.  Sunrise service is one that I remember well.  But before that, I was able to eat one piece of Easter candy.  I usually picked a chocolate Easter bunny and promptly ate the ears.

The lyrics for this project are very simple.  I used scraps!  I have a lot of scraps and it was time to sort and trash.  I also used embroidery floss and some very and cute flower buttons.

Bucket List Scrapbook

A while ago, I unexpectedly crossed off one item on my bucket list.  I had saved all the items I acquired doing this and had them sitting on my to do shelf.  I was trying to come up with a way to display those items and it HITS me over the head.  I could do a scrapbook specifically for bucket list adventures.  Now my bucket list is kinda quirky.  (so I guess that I am quirky too)  One adventure is to try Escargot.  (in Paris of course)  Another is a hot air ballon ride (maybe this summer, as we have a weekend festival filled with balloons)  But this adventure literally surprised the heck out of me.  It was at my local grocery store.

Growing up, I never had the opportunity to do this.  They basically traveled to large metropolitan areas and we are just a small town.  In October 2013, my grocery store had just finished remodeling.  This was the re-opening weekend.  My daughter took me to look at the store and get the grocery specials.  We checked out and for some reason went out a different exit than normal.  

Low and behold there it was.  Gleaming and shiny, red and orange. 

 I GOT TO VISIT THE 

OSCAR MAYER WIENER-MOBILE!!!!!!!

I was shocked to say the least and I am sure I embarrassed my 30+ year old daughter.  (it's the wiener-mobile, look look, it's really here!)  I was sooooo excited.  We got a tour from the hotdogger, a stack of stickers, a coloring sheet and a post card.  Then the big moment came.  (let me set the scene, mom and daughter 30+ and 50+ respectively standing in front of the wiener-mobile)  We started belting out the Oscar Meyer song.  When finished, we both received a cherished red wiener whistle.  One of the happiest days of my life.

So on to todays project.  I am a vault member over at ScrappyDew.  In the vault is a file called "What's Up Dog?"  It has mustard, ketchup and hotdog figures.  Here is the link of sample projects completed with vault patterns.

These figures fit perfectly with all the items from the Wiener-Mobile moment.  So I arranged everything to my liking and here is what I came up with.

For a card maker, I think my attempt at scrapbooking turned out pretty good. I typed the words for the song from the Wiener-mobile blog. (i remember the song differently)  I used the caption balloon, added the typed song and did a print a cut using MTC (Make the Cut) software.  The background paper is by ekSucess and is called Around the World Road Signs.  The figures were made using Recollection cardstock.  The pocket I hand made and put some patterned green washi tape around the edges. Now I just need to go find a 12x12 scrapbook and the plastic protectors and I will be ready for my next bucket list adventure.

Potatoe Head Sign

This is a functional sign that I made as part of  my design team project.  This was made with the Potatoe Heads free file in the vault.  If you haven't checked out purchasing the vault now is good time.  You could pair this with the Story Toys 2013 file for an adorable scrapbook layout.

I used Toy Story themed paper from a seller on Etsy and printed at home from a digital file.  I used the free font Walt Disney from Fontspace.com I laminated it and it is now on our front door.

Baby Overalls Card

I am back with another design team project for ScrappyDew!  This cute little card is what I decided to make after going through my stash of cards and realizing I had NO baby boy cards on hand.  I always like to have cards ready for whatever occasion might sneak up on me, so now I am prepared :)  I used the super cute overall cutting design that is included in the Scrappy Babyz Collection that is only available in the ScrappyDew Vault.  If you are not familiar with their vault, it is a one time purchase and you get an amazing number of designs...plus more are periodically added and you get those too!  A great value for adorable SVG files.

To make the overalls look more baby like and to add a pop of color, I added a rubber duck from their Carnival Theme Park collection.  Isn't is so cute?!  The buttons and white thread added dimension and texture to the card.

This is to show you how I constructed the shape of the card base.  I simply welded two overall shapes together at the top of the straps.  I added a stamped sentiment and made faux stitching lines all around the card with a white gel pen.

Flip Flop Card

I used the beautiful flip flop SVG files from ScrappyDew's Vault.  If you are not a vault member of theirs, you are seriously missing out!  Once you purchase the membership, not only do you get access to a ton of designs they already have in there, they periodically add more designs and you get those for free.  PLUS there is a coupon code for vault members that lets your purchase their regular store designs for super cheap.  Can you tell I am a happy vault member?? LOL!  Here is a link that you can see some of the designs they have in their vault.  They have added more since!

Anyway, here is the card I created from the flip flops.  They cut like a charm on my Cricut!

I used water paper from a DCWV Photo Real stack for the top part of the background.  The flowers on the flip flops are some of the built in shapes in SCAL2.  Then I used the Round 14 Epiphany Crafts shape tool to add a little extra visual interest to the center of the flowers.

I created the sand using Core'dinations Vintage Collection cardstock.  I tore two layers, embossed it then sanded it to reveal the core kraft color.  The sentiment I printed off from my computer, layered it with a scalloped punch and popped it up on foam adhesive.

Some beach...Somewhere...  Actually just being able to play with my paper helped me a lot more than getting sunburned on some hot, sandy beach would have LOL!

Hip Hip Hooray

When I saw this file,Cupcake Hippo,  I knew it would be perfect 

for my granddaughter who will be 2 soon!

 For the background, I used Dots from DCW.  The hippo and the bottom of 

the cupcake were cut from The Paper Studio.  The pink was cut from 

Coredinations Canvas Textures and I added Icicles Stickles.  I cut the 

top of the cupcake solid and enlarged the stars a bit and glued to the top.

Pumpkin Witch treat bag

I created this treat bag using the free Pumpkin Witch file.

I used my Silver Bullet Cutter.

The treat bag paper is from Heidi Grace

I used The Paper Studio cardstock in orange, black 

and yello to create the Pumpkin Witch.

Pumpkin Bear

This is my take on the free Pumpkin Bear pattern.

I made a slider card, using purple and orange Recollections cardstock.

The images were done with Print and Cut on Georgia Pacific cardstock.

The ribbons were some that I purchased at WalMart last year.

I used Glossy Accents on the pumpkin images.

Everything was cut with SCAL and my Silver Bullet.

New Year Hat

With New Year's just a couple hours away, I decided to create a New Year's Hat for my son tonight. 

I used the diaper from the Baby Package, bear from the Bee Hive Bears, balloons, party hat, party favor from Birthday Boy Bears all from ScrappyDew.com. I printed all layers on photo paper and hand cut them. Applied foam mounting tape to give them dimension.

The Happy New Year banner is from Mary Kobe. The 2012, I used Black Oak Font and also created a shadow layer.

The confetti on the brim is Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter, feathers from Michaels, Black Ribbon from Michaels.
