Merlin's Mistake

Happy Friday!!!

You know, even wizards can make mistakes.

Well this card is all about that:

Merlin´s Mistake

Our dear Merlin wanted to do something extraordinary and in front of his magician glass ball, shout the magic words:

 Abradacabra

And, OOOOOOPSSSS: He turn himself into a big toad

Deployment Countdown Jar!

I'm excited to share a project that I've been wanting to make for a while now. As some of you may know my husband is deployed and will be for about 8 more months. I wanted to make something for my kids to help them count down the days and see the progress. I came up with this "Deployment Countdown Jar" where each morning they can take out a soldier. I made this using a couple files from ScrappyDew.com..."Military Uniforms 2013" and "Story Toys 2013." For the Air Force guy I traced the PNG file and print & cut on my silhouette because I didn't have any paper to make his uniform. I think he turned out perfect! TFL!

A Groovy Anniversary!

It's so nice to be back, I've really missed you all.  Today I have an anniversary card for a couple that are near and dear to my heart.  This is their 2nd anniversary and I really wanted to make something special for them.  Last Halloween they dressed up as hippies for a party.  Well wouldn't ya know it, ScrappyDew had a pattern called Grovy Palz 2012 that I could use.  Here is the link http://www.scrappydew.com/store/world/. I think I did a pretty good job!  Of course all the parts were made of scraps.  Let me know what you think!

I found scraps that I thought were far-out and these fit the bill.  This card was really fun to create.  The patterns that ScrappyDew designs can usually be used for just about any occasion.

Quickly, let me tell you about the surprise party.  The gentleman's daughter was in charge of everything.  Well I don't know how she did it, but she put two different dates on the invitations.  So I was getting together a car pool for the party and come to find out it was Sept. 7th NOT the coming 14th.  I could not believe it.  So I sent the card with hubby to hand deliver and apologize for our not attending.  Come to find out, the daughter went shopping on the day of the party and forgot about it.  No one was at the address to let the guests in.  So it was a fiasco all around.  But the fishing card did make it to the birthday boy!

Thanks so much for visiting with me today.  Not quite sure what will be on tap for the next project so you will just have to be surprised (I will be too!)

Bright blessings, Jana

Welcome Fall!!

Fall begins next Sunday, on September 22.

In my country, Costa Rica, we only have to seasons: dry season and wet season (right now we are having a very wet season, it´s raining cats and dogs).

Eventhough I have never experience a Fall, it´s my favorite season.
I love the colors -browns, oranges, yellows, greens, etc-, I love the trees changing colors and then the leaves falling down the trees.

To welcome 2013 Fall, I chose the "Scare Crows 2013" cutting file from Scrappy Dew.
Those Scare Crows are so cute, full of details.

Have a great FALL!!!

America to Europe Layout

Hi!!! It´s Friday again (thanks God).

For this week Scrappy Dew project I made a double layout with the "Vacation Airplane" cutting file and some pictures from my daugther´s SofĆa and her trip through Europe.

Sofia´s pictures were taken at the "Colosseo" in Rome.

As you can see, this cutting file is so detail that includes even the little tiny word "Passport" and the little tiny World.

Fall Fun Layout

The cooler weather has me excited for fall projects! Fall is probably my favorite time of year with all the fun activities my family and I do. Today I'm sharing a layout I made as a guest on the DT for ScrappyDew using the new Scare Crow 2013 file.

Gone Fishing!

Hi there!  I am so glad you could stop by today!  Hope your weekend is going fantastic!  In my studio this week, I have created a birthday card for a dear friend of my husbands.  He is having a surprise birthday party next Saturday.  His daughter requested that all cards be related to fishing and that each guest dress up in his/hers best fishing regalia.  Haven't came up with what I am going to wear yet but I DID make a really cute card  (thank goodness for ScrappyDew pattern files, saved my bacon once again).  So here is the link to the file that I used http://www.scrappydew.com/store/family/  The file is named Gone Fishing 2011.  There isn't any lyrics with this card as every bit of it is scraps.  Great scraps but none the less scraps.  Just cut it out using my Zenith Zing and slapped this card together.  Easy peasy!  So here is what I came up with...

Did you catch the phrase?  Good things come to those who bait!  LOVE IT!  I think that the fisherman getting this will be pleased.

Take care and bright blessings, Jana.

Dr. Bag

Last Friday, after finishing my commitment as August guest designer, Michelle -from Scrappy Dew Designing Team- contacted me and asked me to remain designing for them for the next five months.
So now I´am a Dew-ette, and will be posting my Scrappy Dew projects each Friday.

Today, my post is to honor my sister
-Dr. Gabi Soto-

She is a hematologist pediatrician that works with children with blood cancer at the Hospital Nacional de NiƱos, in Costa Rica.

Each work day is a fight for her patients lives.
Due to her hard job, her patients and their parents love her.

I´m proud of my sister.

So, when I saw the "Doctors" and "Hospital Supplies" cutting files from Scrappy Dew, I decided to make a project for her:

Dr Soto Bag

Here is a closer look of the little doctor with her tiny stethoscope (Scrappy Dew always takes care of the little details)

Keep Gabi and her little patients in your prayers.
