Birthday Side Step Card

Here is a card I made for a boy's 1st birthday. I used the files Firefighters - 2013, Firefighter Kidz, Firefighter Trucks and Firefighter Addons. The files are located in the All Grown Up folder. This should make any boy happy who is in love with firetrucks!

Da Boat!

My darling husbands birthday was Wednesday.  So each birthday I try to create a fabulous card just for him (he is my biggest supporter and critic).  So this year I wanted to showcase his baby.  A 28 foot Tollycraft boat.  The boat hasn't been in the water in over 5+ years.  DH has been slowly but surely completely overhauling everything from the engine and electrical to the curtains (that was my job).  I really hope that come late fall, we just might be able to put the boat in at Newport, Oregon for some crab and salmon.  But just in case, I went ahead and floated his boat sooner!

First, the lyrics:

Recollections paper throughout.  DCWV Glitter stack.  I used ScrappyDew's Under the Sea Palz2, and ScrappyDew's Pirate Palz 2011 which can be found in the vault.

So here is what I came up with...
I call this card "Seas the day!"

A closer view

He LOVED this card.  He even took it to our shop to show it off.  BTW, did you notice the boat and lighthouse?  I watched a tutorial created by ScrappyDew on how to do a pixel trace and then create a print and cut. If you are on google+ come on over to The Cut Zone.  It is a wonderful group and we share projects using all sorts of cutters and programs.  Now my 1st attempt at this type of pixel trace is rather rough.  But with practice, I bet I can get spot on!

Cowgirl Mini Album

A little bit late today :o)

On Sunday is my niece Raquel 10th birthday.
Resh is an animal lover since she born.

She loves to ride horses.

So this cowgirl minialbum is for her.

To make this minialbum I altered an Altoid thin.

Once ready, I decored the altered thin with this lovely cowgirl from "Scrappy Wild West" ScrappyDew file.

Inside the thin, the minialbum

Happy Birthday Resh!!! God bless you everyday

Thanks for stopping by.

Gone In Ten Minutes

What an adorable way to document your child learning to ride their bike! I wanted a way to show the action of my son learning to ride his bike without training wheels and I think this layout did the trick!

To create this layout I used "My First Bike" from ScrappyDew Creations and the film strip and chevron is from the silhouette store4 Borders #24503. I used the negative space for the chevron.

The photo mats fit a 4x6 and 3x4 photos. The film strip fits 4 photos measuring 2.4 x 1.6.
The background papers measure 12x12, 11.5 x 11.5, and 11x11.
Journaling was printed on the 11x11 background.

The boy on his bike measures 4.9"

I created the title using the Airstrike font from Dafont.com. I used an extra wheel from the bike and sized it to fit the title.  I then created 2 offsets and added doodling to finish it off.

Additional products used: Echo Park We Are Family By Lori Whitlock and homemade enamel dots.

2014 Kelly Word Book

Hello and welcome to another Saturday edition of Rhapsody on Paper!  Gosh it's been 2 whole weeks since my last post.  How are ya'all doing?  Beating the heat/weather worries?  I have been busy creating from scratch a new to me project.

I have a few very close friends.  For their birthdays, I pull out all the stops.  I try to create unique birthday cards for each of them.  This usually means trials with lots of errors (bet that's why I fill my recycling bin).  So I opened Make The Cut software and started designing. (in a while I will be able to make video's to show you how I create something).  I wanted to make a word book. So using basic shapes and the Vedana font, I made pages for each letter of my book.  Then came the designing stage.  Since I made this for my sister of my heart, I tried to personalize each page directly to her.  I used a lot of ScrappyDew files.  So here are the lyrics:

I used several different combinations from the Scrap Factory program.
On the E page I used hair melissa, outfit capri and diva purse 3.  On the L page, I used a file from the ScrappyDew Vault called Camping Kids girl set 2. My girls gave me the dragonfly punch.

On the next L page I used a ScrapFactory doll with hair melissa, outfit summer girl and open toes body.  I also used the Say Cheese Mouse file from ScrappyDew.  Also on this page are a Scrap Factory cheerleader with hair vicki and last a ScrappyDew file called Baby Girl Crawling 2013.  On the Y page I used ScrappyDew's file Drop Dead Diva's #4.  I created the cake stand in Make The Cut (again with basic shapes).

Boy howdy that's a lot of files.  Now I could list all the papers and embellishments, nawwww.  It's mostly recollections paper and stuff I buy on clearance.

Are you ready to take a look?   HERE IS WHAT I CREATED!!!

Whew.....that was a lot of work packed with a whole bunch of love.  Kelly, I know that you follow my blog so just be patient.  It's in the mail and will be there in about 12 days.

That's it from my neck of the woods for this weeks post.  Coming up in the next few posts are a couple of cards for the men in my life.  And don't forget, we have Christmas cards to get started....

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your comments.  They mean the world to me.

Bright Blessings, Jana

Magical Memories

Magical Memories:

I had a blast, mixing up ScrappyDew files for this amazing layout.    I started with the Castle from Knights 2013, then I made the kids from Independence Day.  I used the Tea cup from Latte Bears and a carousel from Carousel Horses.  I changed the colors on the horse to match the layout.  The balloons are from the MTC gallery.   I created the title by downloading the Twilight font from Font space.  I shaded each of my pieces, probably the most time consuming, but it adds such a nice look.  The mats are layered with glitter paper, and some Disney paper from EK Success.  I used black and white polka dot ribbon.  The background paper I used from my stash.

Yappy Birthday

At what point do I say enough is enough with the card in a box? LOL! I just can't help myself and they're sooo easy to throw together. They're just so versatile and all kids love to receive them! My daughter was invited to her friend's birthday party and her friend asked for a donation to an animal shelter as her girft. So, I decided to use theLittle Yorkie file at Scrappydew Creations to create this.

Yappy Birthday was created using the Lakesight font from dafont.com. I created this by making an offset and then using the print and cut feature in the silhouette software.

Have you ever wondered how you're supposed to write a little message on this style card or how to add a little money or gift card? Well, here is my solution to all this! I created a back panel to write a little sentiment on and also added a little pocket to add money or a gift card too.  This specific sleeve is item #23185 at the Silhouette store.

Fairy in a Jar

I am in love with the Fairy Expansion Pack for the Scrap Factory Doll Builder program! The Scrap Factory Doll builder allows you to choose your doll body, hair style, outfit and accessories. Then it creates an svg cutting file. With my Cricut Explore, I can upload svg files into the Design Space program. Today I've got two projects using Scrap factory, my Cricut Explore and a few Cricut cart images to show you today.

The first is a little fairy in a mason jar. I was in Michael's Arts and Crafts store and right at the entrance, they had a shelf full of different mason jars, milk bottles and other glassware. When I saw this little jar, I immediately thought of the nights we'd spend catching fireflies and saying they were little fairies! I use the Scrap Factory Doll Builder to create my little fairy. She is only 2.5 inches tall! I used images from Cricut carts {Plantin Schoolbook and   }to create her little fairy habitat.

I attached my little fairy to a battery operated tea light so in the darkness, she glows like those fireflies we'd catch!

Pixie Pal

Here is my Design Team project using the Fairy Expansion Pack from the Scrap Factory program. I also used the Pixie Girls file for the house, Squirrel from the Nuts About You pattern file.
For more details check out TinksTableScraps.blogspot.com.

Thanx for looking Angie Koehne~DT

Stylist Fairy

Today I have a thank you card for my hair stylist.  I try to make her a card every time I see her.  I also put a sticker on the back advertising my blog.  (just another way to get the word out).  I wanted to make a bright and colorful card that she could put out on her station.  ScrappyDew has so many patterns to choose from.  But this week I wanted to highlight the NEW Fairy Doll Set.  It is an expansion pak for the Scrap Factory Program.  Kids, if you haven't gotten this program yet, head on over.  It is simply amazing.  So many possibilities.  Here is a link to the Scrap Factory Program.  This is the link to the Fairy Doll Set-Expansion Pak

So here is the easel card that I came up with.  I used up some more of my Recollections scraps and a smidgen of Petaloo glitter. I found the comb and the hair dryer on SVG Cuts . For the fairy, I used the Ginger hair style, outfit #2 and wings #2.  So without futher ado.....

Katie was tickled pink.  Now she just has to wait 7 weeks for another one, and I get a really good cut!

Now next week I haven't the faintest idea what is going to be created.  See sometimes it's a surprize even to me!  Have a wonderful 4th of July 3 day weekend.

Bright blessings, Jana

Isn´t it just gorgeous????

So this week project is all about a fairy in the middle of the woods.
