Support The Troops

Hey Everyone! It is Ken here with another Ken's Kreation. Well as a child of the 80's I could not help but love Star Wars. So I feel in love with the Star Fighters Collection from Scrappy Dew. I wanted to make a shirt featuring the Storm Trooper with a saying that states "Support The Troops". For This project I used a 100% cotton shirt, Square 1 Masterpiece Iron On.

Here is how the finished project turned out:

I printed the Storm Trooper from the Star Fighters Collection and printed it on the Square 1 Masterpiece Iron On.
After I printed it I cut it using the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo. For the sentiment I used the Star Jedi font that you can download FREE from dafont.com.

Two for Two

I have some very dear friends that I send birthday cards to.  My biggest month is Apr/May.  I finally got started and here is the first card.  My dear friend Karen is one of my biggest cheerleaders.  She is always in my corner, sharing my posts and also sharing my work with co-workers.  I love her to pieces!  So I wanted to create a card to express this.  I have to say, the front of the card just happened to come together (i think it is still magic).  I was going for a look of a cafe.  What do you think?

I found the floor in a search on google for wooden floors.  Printed it out and cut out the part that I liked the best.  The envelope and wallpaper are Graphic 45.  The ScrappyDew file is called Tea Party Girls and here is the link http://shop.scrappydew.com/shop/item/65889 .  I really need to get some new printed scraps.  I have a whole closet full of beautiful paper and I use up the scraps first.  (if you don't use what stacks you have you can't buy more.....ya right)  Now for the inside.

Karen said she just loved the sentiment.  Neither of us have seen 29 or 110 pounds in quite a while.  So that is the official start for the birthdays. Currently I am working on a card for another BFF I have had for over 37 years.

So that's it for today.  Take care and if you make something you would like to show off, see the coffee cup on the right hand side of my blog?  Click that and it will take you to my facebook page.  I would love to see what you are making!

Bright blessings, Jana

FIFA World Cup 2014

Today´s is Jimena´s -my niece- 11th birthday.
She is a soccer player and a huge soccer fan.
On World Cup 2010, when Brazil was eliminated, she cried almost an hour, grieving for her dearest soccer team.

So this week project is about Jimena´s love.

On June 12, 2014 will begin the next Fifa World Cup.

My country, Costa Rica, is going to play in Group D against some of the greatest teams of the World.

This project represents Group D and the greatest players of each of those teams (I´m using boys and girls on the project because Jimena is also a soccer player at her school team)

From England, Wayne Rooney #10

From Italy, Mario Balotelli # 9

From Uruguay, Edinson Cavani #7

From Costa Rica, Joel Campbell #12

For this project I used the file "Soccer Palz" from ScrappyDew.

Costa Rica is going to need God´s truly help, to fight against those Soccer Monsters :o)

Happy Spring!

Hey Everyone!! It is Ken here with another Ken's Kreation. Well I am not sure if you have had enough of Winter, but I sure have. So I have one questions for you...Got Spring? We here in Spokane are slowly getting to spring time. This was the perfect time to use the NEW free file from ScrappyDew!

So did you know that ScrappyDew features a FREE file on their website. Make sure you sign up for their newsletter BY CLICKING HERE and follow down to the end of the page and sign up for it. You will see all the new releases and sometimes get a coupon for up to 90% off your total order. Get the FREE file here:

I used my cricut explore for this project. This is a great machine and I am slowly falling in love with design space. I love how this software does all the work for me. I can focus all of my attention on the design instead of the software and cutting. I sized the cut at 4.5 inches. I typed the sentiment with Cricut Cherry Limeade font from cricut and used the Cricut Pens to write it. The shadow behind the bunny file is from Cricut Elegant Edges  form cricut. I have listed all the supplies and links below for you to check out.

Chocolate Bunny Card

One last Easter project to share with you.  I sincerely wish that each and everyone of you have a very blessed Easter celebration.  There are so many traditions that families have when celebrating Easter.  Sunrise service is one that I remember well.  But before that, I was able to eat one piece of Easter candy.  I usually picked a chocolate Easter bunny and promptly ate the ears.

ScrappyDew has a wonderful file that I just couldn't resist using.  It is located in the Vault under the heading previous freebies.  It is called Chocolate Bunny.  It's a super cute file and very quick to put together.  So head on over to ScrappyDew http://shop.scrappydew.com/ and get a vault membership.  You won't be sorry!!!

The lyrics for this project are very simple.  I used scraps!  I have a lot of scraps and it was time to sort and trash.  I also used embroidery floss and some very and cute flower buttons.

So here it is...

Easy, very quick and super cute.  Make sure that you take a look at the ears.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!  Family and Friends together for a big meal....what could be better than that.  Enjoy your day!

Next week I will be back with what I hope to be the big push for May birthday cards.  Starting with a dear friend in Oklahoma!

Bright blessings, Jana

Spring Banner

I am so excited about this post. I have had this idea since the first day I found the image on ScrappyDew's website. I had to find a way to use just about every image in the set, and we all know my love for banners!

Here is my creation for today's post

Recipe:
I created the banner background on my silhouette with the free draw tool, cut out in 2 different sizes to layer them
I also cut out the letters using a standard font in Silhouette's Design Studio
The adorable little characters including the bugs on each letter pendant are from the Bug Catchers - 2012 image file.
I added stitching with a white gel pen on each letter and around the first layer of the pendants.
I added lime green gems to each piece as well and strung it all together with the same color ribbon.

I can't get enough of these cuties. I'm sure, just like I've said with every other post, I'll be using these ones again!

~Enjoy~

Spa Day Goodie Bag!

Ahhhh, such a relaxing day today...

Today is my second day getting to guest design for ScrappyDew Creations.  I just love the image set I used today.  This set, Spa Day has great images.

I wanted to create something a little different than just another card or banner, don't get me wrong, I love making cards and banners.  I guess I was just feeling a little out of the box when I saw this.

I created a little goodie bag to pass out to a girlfriend who may need a pick me up or a just because kinda treat for a friend.

This spa girl was a lot of fun to put together. I can see using her on many designs in the future.

Recipe:
The adorable spa girl is from ScrappyDew's Spa Day image set
I used Jaded Blossom's die and sentement from their Pamper yourself stamp set for the backdrop
After chalking the edges of her cuts, I used my atyou spika pens by copic to add sparkle to her towel, head wrap, hair, and cucumber eyes.
I topped her towel off with off white jute
I attached her to a 3x6 bag with a zipper top filled with lotion and foot scrub.

I can't get enough of how fun she is.  Stay tuned for more spa days, I'm sure!
 Enjoy!

Girl Scout Frame

Well I am sure everyone knows that it is Girl Scout cookie season. Who does not love those yummy cookies. Well my Sister-in-Law works for the local Girl Scouts in their administration office, so this was a perfect opportunity for me to use the Girl Scouts File from Scrappy Dew! Here is how the project turned out. I haven taken the glass out of the frame to reduce the glare from the picture taken.

So for this project I started with a 12 X 12 Shadow Box Frame. I got the files for the Three Girls and the three sentiments from ScrappyDew

*Remember you can save 70% off a $30 purchase ~ NO COUPON REQUIRED

The files come grouped together. I sized the girls at 5.25" high for their body. Make sure to keep all the elements in ration together so the sizing stays correct. I used my Cricut Explore for this project and like I have said before I love how the software Design Space does all the work for me on .SVG. I size the files, sync the colors and hit go. AMAZING!! One of the things I love about my craft room is how my Cricut Explore and Silhouette Cameo work in perfect harmony with each other. I used the Cricut Explore for my girls and the Silhouette Cameo for the sentiments and title.    Since my Sister-In-Law works at the Spokane girls scouts I downloaded their logo, office name, and pledge from the Girl Scouts Website.

PROJECT DETAILS:
Time: 60 mins

Materials Used:
Adhesive: Scotch ATG3D Dots
White Pen: Uni Ball (For Eyes)
Stickles: Diamond Color
