A Christmas Card for Jonathan

This week, a dear friend from Facebook, Damaris Solano, invited me to be part of this dream:

His name is Jonathan Martinez and for this Christmas his wish is to get Christmas cards from all around the world.

So my ScrappyDew´s project for this week is a Christmas card for Jonathan, with greetings from Costa Rica

For this card I used two different ScrappyDew´s cutting files: the Christmas Tree is from the file "Christmas Morning 2012" and Mike an Sully are from the file "MonsterInc 2013" inside the ScrappyDew Vault.

And if you want to join us to fulfill Jonathan´s Christmas dream, you can send him your card to:

Snow Buddies

Here in upstate New York we're expecting 10+ inches of snow tonight and into tomorrow. I think this layout will be filled up with pictures in no time. For this layout I used the Snowman 2013 file from ScrappyDew Creations.

Princess Card

Last week's project was a cute little cowboy birthday card.  Well that card was blingless (yes no bling).  So I just had to make up for it this week.  I wanted to make a princess card and ScrappyDew had just the right file.  I have used the Royalty Palz http://shop.scrappydew.com/shop/search/royalty%20palz/. This file is amazing.  So many ideas and remember you can mix and match to create your own one of a kind elements.

Here is my pretty pretty princess birthday card.  IMHO I think any girl big or small would like it.

I'll let you know a secret, the silver paper is wrapping paper I found last year at Costco.  It's double sided paper and is very easy to cut and use.

That's all for today!  Thank you so much for visiting.  Next weekend is Thanksgiving.  From my home to yours, bright blessings this holiday.  Much love, Jana.

Cookies for Santa

For this year Christmas gifts, I have a new idea for you.

Instead of making the traditional "cookies in jar", why don´t we make a beautiful decorated box for our favorite mix.

For my box I used the "Cookies for Santa" ScrappyDew´s cutting file.

And I added a decorated wooden spoon

Here is closer look of this lovely cutting file

When you are done, just add your favorite cookie, brownie or cake mix in a sealed box.

Don´t you like this idea?????

Just a Note easel card

"Just a Note"
Scare Crows 2013
I am a bit behind on posting my projects.  Here is an easel card I made using the Scare Crows 2013 pattern, you can find the file here: http://shop.scrappydew.com/shop/item/93616 .  I made my base easel card at 6x6.  I scored in half, and the top half in half again.  (I don't like to measure ;) I used DCWV paper with autumn words.  The inside is lined with coordinating orange polka dots.  The hay mat is used with pop dots for the easel top to prop up against.  I stamped "just a note".  This would be a beautiful card to recieve.  The best part I used this as a print and cut.  I was in a hurry, so it is so nice to be able to put together a card in minutes with the feature and still have that fun paper pieced design as it looks life with the tree poking over the easel.

Soaking up Memories

Soaking up Memories

I used the "firefighters 2013" file to create this fun layout, you can find it here: http://shop.scrappydew.com/shop/item/95723 .  I like to use a variety of patterns and colors to achieve the theme I am working on.  I threw in some Disney to make if fun.  I used MTC gallery to download a firetruck for my border, by welding a ladder and truck together.  I layered it with yellow/white stripe paper, brick paper and black/white ribbon.  The bottom is hand cut wavy pattern layered with Disney paper.  The mats coordinate with the fire trucks & yellow stripe paper on top of the red white paper as the background.  My title I made used a Disney font with a water splat and layered.  But this set includes a cute title to use.

For the piecings I used the girl with the hose, a fire hydrant, the fire extinguisher that is hiding behind Mickey, and the firetruck with the boy.  Of course the Fire station to tie it all together.  I love that I found this brick pattern paper, it pulled the firestation together perfectly.  I added some ribbon to the mats.  For the lil girl I used peachy keen stamp for her face, it was so cute!!

Just Horsing Around!

Welcome back to another episode of Rhapsody On Paper.  I'm so excited that you could stop by and take a look at my newest creation.  For this weeks episode, we are traveling to the wild west. ScrappyDew http://www.scrappydew.com has several patterns that are just the ticket for a wild west theme for your card/scrapbook layouts.  This week I have used the Scrappy Wild West pattern http://shop.scrappydew.com/shop/item/55937 and for the inside of the card I have used Bear Clowns 2013 http://shop.scrappydew.com/shop/item/86985. I wanted to create a card for a boy that was fun and colorful.  I do have to say that my scrap selections are dwindling.  The paper I used was so thoughtfully passed on to me by a dear friend (with a whole bunch of other items that I have fallen in LOVE with, thanks honey so much!).  Here are the front and inside of my little cowboy birthday card.

I used some 3-d foam dots under the cowboy to add more dimension and a little bit of the sticker ribbon that was included in the craft items recently passed my way.  All in all I think for a little boy card it turned out very nice.  (yes I still have a hard time with 'male' cards)

So I hope that this gets your creative mojo kick started.  Next week I will have for you a girly girly card filled with sparkle and bling.  Thanks so much for visiting.

Wishing very bright blessing to you and yours,  Jana.
